In this paper, a contributing weight model was used to zone Miyi County for landslide risk assessment. The input data for zoning were mostly and automatically captured by GIS technology. The landslide inventory of the area was made from detailed field surveys and collection of academic material. The landslide-controlling parameters were considered to be gradient, aspect, slope shape, stratum and height difference. The results were verified and confirmed to accord with the actuality.
