Increasing evidence suggests that the widespread use of fossil fuels has led to a rapid increase in carbon dioxide concentration in the atmosphere. This phenomenon may trigger unstoppable climate change. One method to prevent CO₂ in the atmosphere from rising to unacceptable levels is carbon dioxide sequestration, which can progress through various proposed technologies.
