Based on high-resolution sequence stratigraphy using core data, well logs, logging curves, the base-level cycles and the sedimentary characteristics of the Fuyu Formation in the Wangfu Depression were analyzed. The results indicate that MSC1 includes a rapid base-level fall followed by a slow base-level fall, corresponding to the F3-subsection and F2-subsection respectively. MSC2 represents slow base-level rise and corresponds to the f1-subsecion.Middle-term and short-term cyclic sequences of the Fuyu Formation in the Wangfu Depression are regionally stable. The sedimentary environment of the Fuyu Formation in the study area was mainly delta plain but switched to delta front at the top of the formation.
