///Reconstruction of the tectonic uplift and thermal history since Mesozoic in the Dangyang synclinorium of the central Yangtze area was made by means of apatite and zircon fission track thermochronology, vitrinite reflectance and basin modeling. Analyses of the zircon and apatite fission track data suggested that twice enormous tectonic uplift and cooling events occurred in the study area. The heat flow of the study area was relatively steady in Mesozoic, with a lower value around 53.5 mW/m2, it began to increase from Late Cretaceous and had the highest value of  59 mW/m2 in Paleogene.
