In this paper, the zircon U-Pb dating results from the Linyang granite through Laser Ablation-Multicollector Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry(LA-MC-ICPMS) show that the granite near a fault and Xiacun ore spot intrude at (233.1±1.3) Ma and (243.3±2.1) Ma, respectively. Therefore, the Linyang granite formed in the Indo-Chinese epoch during the continent-continent collision together with uplifting and thickening of the earth′s crust, and further research is necessary for the potential metallization of the Linyang intrusion that possibly occurred in the Indo-Chinese epoch or Yanshan epoch.
