Meter-Scale Cycles and Their Evolution from the Cambrian Changhia formation, Dengfeng Area, Henan
详细信息
摘要

The Third Series Changhia Formation of Cambrian in the Dengfeng Area, Henan, deposited the 167 m thick carbonates, display the continuous and abundant depositional and palaeoichnological records which can be better used for the study of meter-scale cycles. Two main types of meter-scale cycles, respectively dominated by microbiolites and by metazoan bioturbated limestones, can be recognized from Changhia Formation. Based on the evolution of meter-scale cycles and their depositional and palaeoichnological features, The cycles dominated by microbiolites give ways to the cycles dominated by metazoan bioturbated limestones from bottom to top in Changhia Formation; the depositional system evolves from the carbonate platform without oolitic shoals into the platform developed oolitic shoals; the sedimentary environments develop from low energy deep subtidal zone to open platform zone, and gradually become shallower into oolitic shoals and eventually end up with restricted platform; the rock types change from the microbiolites of stromatolite, trombolite into bioclastic limestones, bioturbated limestone and oolitic limestone.
