摘要
Middle Ordovician to Early and Late Silurian rugose corals are well developed in the Yangtze region , especially in the Middle-Late Ashgillian and the Aeronian to Telychian of the Llandovery.According to the most up to date records there are 124 genera in total , comprising 31genera from the Landeilo to Middle-Late Ashgillian , 87from the Silurian Llandovery , and six from the Late Silurian. However , the characteristics of some genera previously have not been well defined and their taxonomic relationships were uncertain. After reviewing the published data and our own collections , a classification of rugose corals from the Middle-Late Ordovician and Silurian in the Yangtze Region is proposed and discussed. We suggest that 46out of a total of 124 genera , belonging to 7 families , may be included in the Streptelasmatida ; 37 genera in 14 families may be referred to Columnariida ; and 41 genera in 9 families may be placed in Cystiphyllida.Evolutionary trends amongst some families and genera of Rugosa from the Yangtze Region are also proposed and discussed , within an evolutionary systematics framework.
