Beach Morphology and Sediment Change Characteristics of Huiquan Bay in Qingdao
详细信息
摘要
The beach surface sediments of Huiquan Bay were sampled and observed in 2010 and 2011.Sediments samples were screened by Taylor standard screen and the particle size analysis was carried out to investigate their distribution in two environments. It is found that:(1) under the normal tidal flow,a longitudinal sand dune was developed near the high tide line. From near the cape to long distance, the width and height of the dunes decreased and gradually disappeared, and the grain size of sediments from coarse to fine.(2) After the transformation of storm flow, the original sand dunes were destroyed, and the topography of lateral sand ridge with rhythm formed. From the cape to long distance, the sand ridge scale increased, but gradually became small.(3) In the transverse direction, from shore to sea,the sediments particle size showed complex changes(fine→coarse→fine→coarse).Based on the above factors affecting marine geological process,it is proposed that the variation regularity of longitudinal dune in particle size, and in cape topography was decided not only by the coastal current, but also by material supply, with the dual control characteristics. As powerful storm tide transformed the beach morphology, the original sediments presented strip-transverse sand ridge topography with rhythm by transportation and deposition.Along the intertidal beach zone, tidal flow and back flow interaction brought about the complex changes of surface sediments in particle size, especially the existence of sand-gravel mixed zone.
