Characteristics of Thrust-Nappe Structures in the Zhanggongshan Area, Northern Margin of the Jiangnan Orogen

摘要
A suite of low-grade metamorphic and strong deformed Early Neoproterozoic volca n ic-sedimentary rocks are widely distributed in the Zhanggongshan area the adja c ent region of Anhui and Jiangxi Provinces,northern margin of the eastern sectio n of the Jiangnan orogen.Multi-stages of structure deformation,magmatism,met a morphism and sedimentation had happened in this area since Jinninian period.Thr ust-nappe structures developed in the intra continental orogenic stages in this area are emphatically introduced in this paper.The NE-NEE trending high-angel t rust-nappe structures multiphasically imbricated from north to south are the mo s t significant tectonic deformation in this area.The thrust-nappe structures ar e composed of Pingli-Fufeng thrust-nappe system in the north of taking Yaoli-Z han gyuan-Jiangtang main thrust-nappe fault,Zhanggongshan—Zhangqian thrust-nap pe system in the south of Qinghua—Guankeng—Wucheng main thrust-nappe fault and their secondary imbricate thrust faults.The thrust-nappe system mainly formed i n the Early Yanshanian had experienced accretion from north to south with an adv ance spreading form,and the nappes not yet separated from the main thrust-napp e faults only moved in short distances.The thrust-nappe structures were formed i n the regional dynamic setting of northward strong compressional actions of Indo sinian-Nanhai plate.
