Types, Characteristics and Genetic Mechanisms of Bank Collapse in the Zhenjiang-Taizhou Reach of Yangtze River

摘要
Using on the spot investigation of rock-soil deformation and destruction in the bank slope of Zhenjiang-Taizhou reach of Yangtze River,the paper discusses the types and characteristics of bank collapse geological hazards.Taking the Sima b end as an typical example for analyzing,the genetic mechanism of bank collapse are identified,and the types of bank collapse in the Zhenjiang-Taizhou reach c a n be divided into wash-collapse,strip-collapse and arc-collapse,among them, th e arc-collapse is the most destructive geological hazard and the strip-collaps e takes a second place.The genetic mechanism of collapse mainly are engineering g eology,hydrogeology and rivers hydrodynamic conditions,and climate,human acti vities and regional tectonic background are less important.The harms caused by bank collapse geological hazards are summarized and some relevant preventions an d suggestions about bank collapse in the Zhenjiang-Taizhou reach of Yangtze Riv er are proposed.
