The Relationship between 234U/238U and Uranium Content of Saline Lakes in Northwestern China: A Case Study of the Carbonate Type Saline Lake in Inner Mongolia
详细信息
摘要
Through integrated researches on saline lake water and response sediments of uranium-bearing carbonate-type lakes in Erlian basin and Erdos Basin in northwest china, the authors refers that uranium in carbonate-type lakes derived from surrounding Mesozoic and Neozoic sediments leached by meteoric and underground water, showing characteristics of near and fast recharge uranium resources. The ~234U/~238U of lake brine and responding sediments is 0.8to 1.2,indicating uranium in enriched saline lake and the sediment are in relatively state. While the ~234U/~238U of U-bearing lake brine and responding sediments is inverse proportion to the uranium content(close to 1),and ranges between 0.9~1.5.Indoor lake water evaporation experiment suggests that ~234U/~238U value and uranium content of both relic water and sediments decrease as evaporation increases.Uranium occurs as uranylcarbonate and absorption mainly in saline sediments rich in organic and detritus components.~234U/~238U in both lake brine and sediments is one of the key proxies to indicate uranium content and sources of saline lake-type uranium resource.
