     Stratigraphie analysis of the Yingcheng, Shahezi and Huoshiling formations using lithostratigraphic, biostratigraphic, and geochronological data allows the establishment and characterization of the stratigraphic sequence in the southern Songliao basin. A stratigraphic subdivision and correlation scheme is presented in order to support hydrocarbon exploration in the southern Songliao basin.
