Palladium-induced selective B(4)−H activation is achieved by the reaction of o-carboranylthioamide and [PdCl₂(CH₃CN)₂]. A tetranuclear palladium complex is formed in high yield. Mononuclear and trinuclear palladium complexes are obtained directly from the reaction of tetranuclear palladium complex with small molecules, such as tert-butyl isocyanide and CO.
