A novel lithiated silicon-sulfur battery is presented by B. Li, F. Kang, and co-workers in article number 1602015. A solid-like electrolyte fabricated by integrating a silicon oxide hollow nanosphere layer and ether-based electrolyte with a fluoroethylene carbonate additive was exploited. The prepared battery exhibited enhanced cycle life, low flammability, and strong recovery ability against short-circuits.
