TiO2-supported Re (Re/TiO2) enables selective catalytic hydrogenation of carboxylic acids bearing aromatic and aliphatic moieties to t
he corresponding alcohols under mild conditions. Contrary to typical
heterogeneous catalysts, Re/TiO
2 does not lead to t
he formation of dearomatized byproducts. Re/TiO
2 is recyclable as a
