The domino reactions of 8-aminoquinoline, benzoyl chlorides, and thiophenols in one-pot provide sulfenylated benzamides efficiently without prior step of preparing N-qunolinyl benzamides. Besides the significantly improved step economy, the present one-pot method has also shown featured application in allowing the tunable mono- and disulfenylation of benzamides containing two identical C−H bonds by slightly modifying the reaction conditions.
