The Star of David is the structural motif of important doubly tri-legged structures that can be stacked together by applying lock-and-key strategies. In their Communication on page 8343 ff., T. W. Tseng, K. L. Lu, and co-workers show how this approach can lead to the systematic construction of dissectible bamboo-like metal organic tubes (resembling the form of the tower Taipei 101).
