The Wells–Dawson tungsten heteropolyacid H₆P₂W₁₈O₆₂ catalyzes the formation of dissymmetric peroxides from tert-butyl hydroperoxide and various benzylic alcohols. In some cases, these catalytic conditions led to benzylic ethers as side compounds.
