The first complete genome sequence of Streptomyces globisporus, a strain producing an enediyne antitumor antibiotic lidamycin.
The genome consists of three replicons, a 7,608,611 bp linear chromosome, a 167,754 bp linear plasmid and a 7,234 bp circular plasmid.
The genome harbors 33 putative gene clusters involved in the biosynthesis of diverse secondary metabolites including lidamycin.
