3D honeycomb-like hematite nanoflakes/branched polypyrrole nanoleaves heterostructures are fabricated.

Various techniques are combined to elucidate the mechanisms underlying formation and morphogenesis evolution of core-branch Fe2O3@PPy heterostructures.

The core-branch heterostructures facilitate the synergy of inorganic metal oxides and conductive polymers.

The optimized core-branch Fe2O3@PPy electrode works as negative electrode and exhibits an ultrahigh capacitance of 1167.8 F g−1 at 1 A g−1.
