We experimentally verify the isostructural CH4 – flue gas replacement that occurs in sH hydrate.
13C NMR spectroscopy reveals that the initial CH4 + NH hydrate does not undergo a structural transition during replacement.
CO2 molecules preferentially occupy the medium 435663 cages during replacement.
ΔHd values and heat flow monitoring using HP μ-DSC support the isostructural CH4 – flue gas replacement in sH hydrates.
