The effects of loads and EGR in CI engine fueled with pine oil/diesel were studied.

With load increased, BSFC, CO, THC and soot first decreased and then increased.

Under full load conditions, pine oil and diesel can provide equivalent power output.

Increased EGR to 24.6%, NOx decreased but CO, THC and soot were affected little.

The addition of pine oil significantly reduce soot emissions at high EGR ratio.
