Groundwater quality during post monsoon and summer seasons within the urban fringe of Gridhumal river sub-basin was analyzed.

WQI estimate and hydro-chemical indices to classify the groundwater suitability for various uses.

Wastewater irrigated areas show above critical limits of EC, TDS, TH, Na⁺, Cl⁻, NO₃⁻ level in groundwater samples.

The geochemical analysis shows the predominance of Na-Cl and NaHCO₃ types.

Heavy metals, Pb, Cr and Cd concentrations were found to be above the maximum permissible limits.
