Novel CaCO3/Fe2O3 nanorod catalysts were synthesized.

CaCO3/Fe2O3 nanorods were effective for catalytic oxidation of PCAHs.

A complete o-DCB oxidization was obtained at a low temperature (350 °C).

Water-resistance and stability are superior to reported particle-like nanocomposite.

Unique surface morphology and interfacial microstructure contribute to high activity.
