DNA-MLV prime-boost immunization improved the quality of PRRSV-specific immunity. Priming with DNA vaccine alleviated MLV-induced negative immunomodulatory effects. DNA vaccine is potent in directing PRRSV-specific immunity in the following exposure. Strong CMI at the time of challenge was not sufficient for protection of HP-PRRSV.
