Maximum tolerance dose of tafenoquine is 30 mg/kg body weight. Tafenoquine fails to clear the blood stage parasites of P. gallinaceum. Tafenoquine has strong gametocytocidal actions against P. gallinaceum. Tafenoquine + artesunate is synergistic and effective against pathogenic and transmission stages of P. gallinaceum.
