Isoglossa is monocarpic so that individuals show very high developmental variation over a flowering period. New understanding is brought to the taxonomic circumscription of species in this notoriously difficult genus. We have resolved long standing taxonomic confusion and document ten white-flowered species of Isoglossa in southern Africa. Two new species are described. Morphology, micromorphology, phenology and geographical distributions are described.
