文摘

The effect of canopy gap size on regeneration was studied in Chinese pine plantation. Gap size had no effect on regeneration density but positively affected their height. Taller and smaller regeneration were respectively found in gap center and understory. The random and independent pattern mainly occurred in two age groups of regeneration. Gap expansion along the northeastern edge will be needed to boost canopy recruitment.
