PAH concentrations were higher in roots (99%) than in leaves (1%). The dominant PAHs in roots and leaves possessed two to three rings. Oil caused disorganization of the root cap, meristem and conducting tissue and distortion of the nuclei, mitochondria and chloroplasts.
