SHP-1 inactivates GSK3β through direct association with and dephosphorylation of GSK3β at Tyr216. SHP-1 acts as a positive regulator of osteoblast differentiation. SHP-1 overexpression rescues the inhibitory effect of rosiglitazone on osteoblast differentiation by inactivating GSK3β.
