MAPK signaling critically regulates cardiac adaptive and maladaptive cardiac hypertrophy. Inactivation of the MAPKs are regulated by dedicated dual-specificity phosphatases (DUSPs). DUSP-dependent regulation of the MAPKs dynamically alters cardiac responses to physiological and pathological stimuli.
