Experimental and modeling investigation on CO2 sorption kinetics over K2CO3-modified silica aerogels

K2CO3/SG is synthesized by the two-step sol-gel and wet impregnation method using ethanol as solvent. CO2 sorption capacity of the sorbent can reach 1.35 mmol CO2/g in simulated ultra-dilute flue gas conditions. CO2 sorption kinetics performances are well described by the modified Avrami fractional kinetics model. The effects of operation conditions on CO2 sorption kinetics performances of the sorbent are demonstrated.
