Reduction of nitrate by heterogeneous photocatalysis over pure and radiolytically modified TiO2 samples in the presence of formic acid

Nitrate photocatalysis with formic acid efficient over different TiO2 samples. Nitrite, ammonium, non-identified nitrogen compounds produced during the reaction. Radiolytically prepared Ag-TiO2 samples more efficient than unmodified TiO2. Modification of TiO2 samples with Pd deteriorates NO3− transformation. A mechanism of photocatalytic nitrate transformation is proposed.
