Effect of pH on photocatalytic oxidation mechanisms and kinetics is investigated. At neutral pH, the photocatalytic oxidation follows first order kinetic model. At low pH, the rate of oxidation involves a combination of first order and Langmuir-Hinshelwood models. A kinetic model predicts that the dependence of rate constants on UV intensity changes with pH.
