Comparative investigation on the spray characteristics and heat transfer dynamics of pulsed spray cooling with volatile cryogens

Spray and heat transfer of R134a, R407C and R404A spray cooling are compared. R404A produces the smallest diameter and largest velocity of droplets. Smaller spray width and better selectively spatial cooling are achieved by R404A. R404A produces far lower temperature and larger heat flux than R134a and R407C. R134a can be replaced by R404A for its better cooling effect in laser surgery.
