Bone char (BC) shows high adsorption potential for fluoride from aqueous solutions. Thermal regeneration process promotes the diffusion of fluoride inside the BC pores. The heat treatment can increase the degree of crystallinity bone char. The optimal thermal regeneration temperature was 400 °C.
