A composite membrane was prepared by depositing UiO-66 nanoparticles on the regenerated cellulose membrane. The composite membrane showed 100% methylene blue rejection at extremely high permeability. The rejection originated from a pore sieving mechanism. The membrane was stable in water, reuse and bending.
