Mesoporous α-Fe2O3 was synthesized by the precipitation method using CNC as templates. The adsorption kinetics followed the pseudo-second-order models. The adsorption isotherms fitted well with the Freundlich models. pH affected the removal efficiency of phosphate. Ion strength did not affect phosphate adsorption significantly.
