In-situ growth of cobalt oxide nanoflakes from cobalt nanosheet on nickel foam for battery-type supercapacitors with high specific capacity

Porous Co3O4 nanoflakes are prepared for battery-type supercapacitor application. The three-step synthesis route includes electrodeposition, in-situ reaction and calcination. Co3O4 nanoflake exhibits a specific capacity as high as 576.8 C g− 1 at 1 A g− 1. A remarkable cycling stability with 82% capacity retained is obtained.
