Micro-encapsulation of folic acid using horse chestnut starch and β-cyclodextrin: Microcapsule characterization, release behavior & antioxidant potential during GI tract conditions
Folic acid was encapsulated in horse chestnut starch and β- cyclodextrin. Particle size distribution, thermal stability and structural analysis were carried out. Release of folic acid and antioxidant potential of microcapsules were studied under GI tract conditions. Folic acid was better retained in the microcapsules that ensure its sustainable release in intestinal conditions.
