Cookie-like Bi2S3/Bi2MoO6 was obtained via ion exchange engineering. The formation process and mechanism of Bi2S3/Bi2MoO6 were deeply investigated. Bi2S3/Bi2MoO6 exhibit enhanced photocatalytic and gas sensing properties.
