The maximum CA concentration was 0.443±0.096 M in the recirculation mode. The lowest internal resistance of 48.5 Ω was in the MEDCC packed IER. High abundance of Geobacter was in the MEDCC with the recirculation mode. The lowest electric consumption in MEDCC was only 10–40% of that in ED and EDBM.
