8β-Hydroxy-african-4(5)-en-3-one angelate was biotransformed by Mucor plumbeus. Metabolites with 1α-, 6α- or 15-hydroxy groups and angelate epoxides were obtained. The antifeedant and cytotoxic activities of the compounds have been investigated.
