Study of the transport of alkali metal ions in a nonaqueous polymer electrolyte based on Nafion

Nafion-M+/DMSO electrolytes with M+ = Li+, Na+, K+, Rb+ and Cs+ were studied. Dependence of the ionic conductivity on the cation radius is non monotonic. Effect of DMSO concentration on the electrolyte properties was investigated. The minimum transport unit in the lithiated electrolytes is a solvate [Li(DMSO)4]+.
