Role of calcium ions on the removal of haloacetic acids from swimming pool water by nanofiltration: mechanisms and implications
详细信息    查看全文
文摘
The effect of swimming pool matrix (particularly Ca2+) on membrane rejection is significant. HAA rejection by NF270 was decreased in the presence of Ca2+ at pH 7.5. Ca2+ is unable to form strong complex with HAAs under pool conditions. The presence of Ca2+ does not significantly affect membrane pore sizes. Formation of membrane-Ca2+ complex weakens charge effect and reduces HAA rejection.
