A better insight into the Roman landscape near the former Drusus Dam was developed. A relationship between a discovered river gully and the eroded Drusus Dam is plausible. The eroded fortress of Carvium was situated at the apex of the Insula Batavorum. In fluvial areas an interdisciplinary approach can answer archaeological questions.
