Late Jurassic-Early Cretaceous episodic development of the Bangong Meso-Tethyan subduction: Evidence from elemental and Sr-Nd isotopic geochemistry of arc magmatic rocks, Gaize region, central Tibet, China

Two periods of magmatism occurred along south Qiangtang at 161–142 Ma and 128–106 Ma. Geochemical and isotopic data indicate the magmatism formed in an arc setting. Inherited zircons indicate an Archean component in Qiantang sediments. Magmatic gap at 142–128 Ma marks a flat subduction of the Meso-Tethys. Later magmatism and coeval back-arc rifting was triggered by slab rollback.
