New anatomically preserved calamiteans are described from Parnaíba Basin/Brazil. Results emphasize growth form diversity among Permian arboreal sphenophytes. Arthropitys/Sphenophyllum growth interaction is documented for the first time. Mid-North Brazilian Region was a distinct phytogeographic unit in Cisuralian.
