The air quality of the Olona Valley was investigated. Air pollution was investigated by chemical analysis. Human-related in vitro tools were applied to study air dust toxicity. Potential alerts were found for arsenic, nickel, benzene and particulate matters. Bioassays with A549 and BEAS-2B cells confirmed possible adverse effects.
