Predation is one of the most recurring causes of small mammal accumulations. Digestion marks for South American small mammal groups are reviewed here. Comparisons between the South American prey with those of other continents are made. New description of the categories of digestive corrosion for Ctenomyidae is done. New methodology can be useful in archaeo-palaeontological sites of South America.
